How effectively are you personally exploring and developing your role(s)?

As the director I have to explore and analyse all of the characters to make sure that suit their role. I hot seat all the character to make sure they are compatible with their role and the script; anything that doesn't suit either the character of script is changed either through discussion or improvisation.

During rehearsal I record all the line we do in improvisation. I then feedback the line and which lines I think best suit that character we then do a scene using though lines and if fits it is added to set script

As well as the plot, robbery, I also research all the character as the actors do via people watching archetypes found in other dramas ect.

After scripting script one I tried blocking it several ways until we were all happy with the setting. I also researched slapstick comedy on the BBC to see what comical elements we could add such as oversized props and dropping and spilling numerous items at a time.

As the diretor I am in charge of blocking the scenes as well as suggestions lines for the script. I lead the ward up and choose warm up based on the scene we're rehersing that lesson. An example being when we reherse scene 1, the dinner scene, which is largly focused on phsical comedy we would start with a bretian gester help exagerat each charaters movments. As our play is slapstick i reasearched other slapstick comedys and found the funninest were the only that involed a mess, ie food fight, pie in the face ect.
